In the past, students would bring in sweet treats to celebrate their birthdays with classmates. This year things are different. Our principal decided that bringing in treats is not allowed. We would have kiddos walking up and down the hall with donuts and cupcakes all the time. Some days it felt like 10 kids came to my room to share their treats. So much class times wasted and too many sweets. Our principal wants us to celebrate by having a brain break, dance party, or something else that gets them up and moving. Since they are bringing in their treats I wanted to spice up their little gift from me. Last year I gave funky straws and a pencil. This year I added a few little things to their goodie bag. I ran into Target… you know… the place where you ALWAYS spend more then you planned on! I found these goodies: I found all of this stuff in the Dollar Spot and party aisle. What You See: Clear baggies Pencils Play-doh Flutes Bouncy Balls Straws Glow Bracelets (not pictured) I created these little tags and included the adorable closing that Kelley Dolling from The Teacher Factory uses. LOVE IT! Grab the editable tags by clicking below! How do you celebrate birthdays in your room?
