Not only is it heating up outside, but in room 3 jungle fever is rising! I went in my room today to get a jump start on a few things. Even though all I want to do is nap right now, I wanted to post some of my pictures for how things went! Jungle/Safari Theme in progress!
I saw a post on Pinterest and loved it! So I created a jungle/safari themed one. I used a container from protein shakes and duct tape. I will keep highlighters in here and students will highlight their names before turning in work!
I wanted a new way to store my Reading & Math games. Last year, I kept them in Ziplock bags in a basket on the back counter. I felt like I should utilize the wall space more. I bought a roll of duct tape, 3m hooks, and 2 wooden dowels from Michael’s. I cut a piece of tape the length of the dowel and carefully rolled it around lengthwise. Super easy and so much cuter then they were. My plan is to put the 3m hooks under my chalkboard, rest the dowels on the hooks, and use these adorable, bright “S” hooks from Ikea. Somehow I plan on hanging the bags on the “S” hooks which will hang on zebra printed dowel. (I will share a final picture when I am done.)
Last year I did nothing with these windows that look into the hallway. But this year I had planned on having my mom make some. After pricing the supplies, I decided to take my teacher friend’s idea of using black poster board. She cut out the stencil to half of a window which made the rest easy! Then I lined the edges with cheetah printed duct tape. I don’t know what I would do without the animal print duct tape!
I think they turned out great! Thanks Odette 🙂

I saw this idea on Pinterest. I will write student’s names on each one once I get my class list. They will get to put their most cherished work up and change it as they like.
This is what my lower cabinets looked like before. Ewww!
they look like…
BIG improvement. And all it took was: animal print border, butcher paper, hot glue, and a burned/blistered finger 🙁
Going in to work today made me so happy!! But now it is nap time.
Then it is cutting time since I laminated everything below! Oh gosh!
